Hey! Today I am doing a write-up on my favorite current projects by far. I think at the current floor of 0.08eth, it is an affordable entry NFT project with a bright future! The team also agreed to do an interview with me so I will include that towards the bottom, so you can read everything directly from the source. Once again, I am asking for your help in spreading the word about this free NFT newsletter and for feedback as well. There are lots of topics/projects and I will be doing my best to cover some things, I already have 2-3 other projects that reached out and asked me to do a write-up (coming up in the next few days). But even if projects ask me to do an analysis, I can reject them and everything I write will be my honest opinion. Like always, I am transparent and honest. I own 100 Lonely Aliens. Let’s get it started!
What is Lonely Alien Space Club (LASC)? I am going to pull or reword this answer from their website but essentially. The LASC is a collection of 10,000 non-sequentially minted, ERC-721 tokens stored on the Etheruem blockchain. “Each NFT comes with a full membership including functional utility and an evergrowing community.”
Here are some of my personal favorite aliens:
What was the mint price and are they sold out? They were released about 10 days ago and took about 50 hours to sell out, they were priced at 0.06eth + gas.
Alright so now that we got the basics covered, I am going to condense some of the key points into a paragraph. There are 180 traits and they have one of the best roadmaps I have seen. They are creating their own internal token ($SCC), which will be given value from the community wallet, and backed by 50% of the royalties. One of my favorite parts of the LASC discord is DJ A$TRO, he is the resident DJ. Basically, DJ A$tro puts on live DJ concerts in the discord (and now maybe twitch) and everyone just vibes with him. I have never seen something so cool, being there for one of his first concerts and experiencing the community bonding in the main chat, spamming a bunch of clubbing and dancing gifs. This was my favorite discord experience I have had on any server. It was just so captivating to see Dj A$TRO going so hard with the music and head bobs and the whole community jamming out with him and it just served as a serotonin boost. On top of this, they have created three separate communities (colonies) of aliens; Lunis, Vulcan, and Paradox. Each member can only join one community with exclusive access to different giveaways, games, competitions, and chats! The team has already set up the liquidity pool, and are working on the Alien Terminal as well as the viewing hub. The Alien Terminal will let you name your alien, while the viewing hub is a showcase of the “alien of the day” on the website with a direct link to the Opensea listing! All of this so far has just been the first phase of the roadmap.
The second phase of the roadmap includes an interactive viewing portal to see all the aliens (gallery style), members-only merch (which should look super fire), raffle bot v6 (where each alien held is an entry into the raffle), and lastly, the Alien Life Journal. The alien life journal is a journal where each owner will be granted access to the alien’s journal and can write the story of the alien in an improv style. Each alien would get its own journal and each time a Lonely Alien is transferred, the next owner can add their entry, each unique wallet will only be allowed one entry. To me, this idea of where you can create a story for your alien and future owners will be able to as well, is super innovative and fascinating. Then comes phase three of the roadmap which is still mostly hidden from us, but one of the key features is a casino dedicated to Lonely Aliens.
The way I formatted the interview is after I ask the question and post the answer, I include a “Daniel’s thoughts” area for me to just write what I think about the topic. It is my personal opinion but I think it is a cool idea for all the readers to see my point of view. Let me know if this is something y’all liked or not!
The Interview:
Daniel: Let's start at the beginning, who had this idea and how long ago was it?
LASC: “Hazai (Artist) initially came up with the whole aesthetic of the Lonely Aliens. He drew the first alien while laying in bed one night around 4 months ago. After sharing it with Nukans, they knew they were on to something big. He began drawing each and every accessory, hair-do, chain, etc. that you see on your Lonely Aliens today. Fast forward to now, that late-night drawing session turned into the Lonely Alien Space Club.
The two started bouncing ideas off each other and knew they had to get OverLord in the crew.
We hung out in Discord together, brainstorming, planning, and working day and night for three and a half months. Our vision since day one was an organically grown, tight-knit, vibey, transparent, and honest community. The three of us became much closer through this entire process, and have kept it professional but fun the entire time.”
Daniel’s thoughts: It seems as though this was a super organic natural progression starting from this sketch and the team has really bonded. A team that is close to each other and devoted to making something special, is highly desirable when I am looking for a project to invest in.
Daniel: What was the inspiration and what pushed you guys to start working on this project?
LASC: “Our inspiration was watching the wonderful works of BAYC, GCG, and others who were pushing forward with their innovations and accomplishing things in the NFT space that have never been seen before. This really sparked our interest and aligned well with the artwork. Our goal was to create something similar and recognizable, but also unique and innovative at the same time.”
Daniel’s thoughts: This seems like a standard for some high-quality projects I have explored, such as GOATZ who created the idea because of the miserable drop experience of the Gutter Cats. I like this, show’s the team has larger ambitions.
Daniel: What are some features you are most excited about?
LASC: “One of our favorite features that we are going to implement is the Alien Life Journal.
Users will be able to access the Space Club portal of our website (react.js), verify that they hold our token in their connected wallet (web3), and place one single entry into the underlying journal of their Lonely Alien(s).
We decided to take this approach as it offers the community an improv style opportunity to add value and fun to the Alien they own. Each time a Lonely Alien is transferred, the next owner can add their entry. Each unique wallet will only be allowed one entry.”
Daniel’s thoughts: I actually really like this idea, really keeps people engaged and attached to their aliens long term. Once I write a backstory to my alien, they will be mine forever. I haven’t really seen anything like this except maybe the BAYC Bathroom which was really just a collaborative place for all owners to write and draw whatever they want on the same “canvas”. Either way, I have not seen this particular idea and I would pay for this reason alone, and then when you add the DJ A$TRO concerts…. we are getting insane value at this price point.
Daniel: The team made an announcement today; 50% of the royalties will be injected into $SCC while the other 50% will be used to buy the floor of the project and burn it! Could you speak a little more on the burning, what pushed you guys that way, and is it consistent or just this upcoming royalty cycle?
LASC: A diminishing supply, combined with price floor sweeps, using our own revenue, is a way of showing that we are both confident, and invested in our project. If you look through the Lonely Aliens, most of the rarer / unique IDs, are listed well above 0.5 ETH, and when you combine that with the more common / uglier aliens being burned forever, we will leave the rest, for you to decide!
We aren’t guaranteeing that this will be a constant cycle, but we will definitely do it more than once. If those Lonely Aliens can’t find a place in the Space Club, then they are being sent back, into the Black Hole.
Daniel’s thoughts: I am pretty neutral about this concept. I was never a fan of buybacks personally but I know many NFT enthusiasts like them and love when projects do them. But another part of me is excited about this; so far there is at least 4.2eth set aside for the buybacks as soon as the first royalty check hits their account! 4+ eth being used to slowly limit supply and chip away at the “uglier” aliens.
Daniel: The project is now at 1,623 holders just a few days after selling out. Is this on track with your plans? What are your goals in terms of the total number of unique wallets?
LASC: “In comparison to many other popular projects right now, we feel that we are right on track. Our sales and community are completely organically grown. We believe that slow and steady wins the race as opposed to artificially influenced pumps. We are shooting for the stars, but 2500 unique owners is our first goal.”
Daniel’s thoughts: So first off I want to correct something, the number of holders was at 1,623 about three days on the 23rd, now there are 1,839 unique holders! I personally agree, for a project that took over 48 hours to sell out and had about 1,400 minters, I think it’s growing at a great rate. Another thing I would like to point out is that the number of holders is going up with the floor which is always a bullish signal in my book.
Daniel: I heard you guys were looking for a full-time React developer, anything you can share about that?
LASC: “Today (7/22) we sent 30 ETH of our team funds to a multi-sig gnosis safe to fund our newfound team of developers. We have screened and hired 4 amazing developers. We will further update everyone about them shortly. They are all highly sufficient in different programming languages and can meet our different needs. They are full-time hires and will be working closely with OverLord and Nukans behind the scenes. We will have each of them post an introduction in Discord in the near future.
OverLord will be spearheading the development team to get us moving forward (and up) as quickly as possible. He will be managing the team behind the scenes and Nukans will be providing community updates straight from the developers.
OverLord is an experienced business developer with tons of innovative ideas for the future of the NFT world. He holds a master's degree in computer science and electrical engineering, with an added MBA on top. He works on business development and is always pressing innovative ideas and inventing new things.
Our community has invested in us, and we are not afraid to invest it back in order to make the Space Club a long-lasting project/community in the NFT space.
Currently, our website is being converted to Tailwind CSS so that our developers can work, connect, and update it seamlessly with our backend. We will be announcing more in our Discord very soon regarding our dev team.”
Daniel’s thoughts: This is AWESOME. That is my first thought, they have hired 4 additional full-time developers for the project. On top of this, I am loving Overlord’s background. To me, this team has been fantastic from the start and they are not letting up on that gas pedal.
Daniel: Can you tell me the end goal of the Lonely Alien Space Club in one sentence?
LASC: “Our end goal is to be the next “blue chip” NFT project, and nothing less.”
“We committed to doing things right, not cutting corners, to being transparent, honest, and truthful with our community. We will always aim to keep things professional, but we are not afraid to hang out in the chat and vibe of our community.
From day one, a strong and tight-knit community was one of our main end goals, and this goal feels somewhat achieved already. It’s almost nostalgic, and to watch it all unfold in front of us is an unexplainable, amazing feeling. The “club” style projects are a way for people to express themselves, to meet new people, to have a safe and fun place to go and hang out after school, work, or just a downright bad day.
We love everyone that has been a part of our movement, from our Early Supporters (OG’s) to the people just now purchasing on the secondary market. We appreciate EVERYONE for being a part of the Lonely Alien Space Club.
We promised transparency, honesty, and delivery since day one. Nothing has changed. We will always treat this community as we did when our membership was under 500. We love hanging out in the #chat_terminal with you guys all day.”
Daniel’s thoughts: I don’t think I even have to say anything. I am in love with this answer, project, and team.
FINAL THOUGHTS: This article was a bit lengthy but I hope you read it all and learned something new. I will be posting the LASC link tree at the bottom of this article. This is one of my favorite projects I have ever seen, this is the first project other than Cryptopunks where I am growing attached. I never grew attached to my Gutter Cats or Apes or Cool Cats or any other project I’ve had in the past. Another point I would like to make is this is the first project where I am actually excited for merch and willing to pay for it. Overall, I think this is one of the best teams, they are full-time and have committed to making the project succeed. On top of all of this, I love the art, the community, DJ A$TRO, the future tokenomics ($SCC), and the Journal. And this is just the beginning….
P.S. Thank you to the team for taking the time to do an interview with me!
Good looks brother, LASC discord vibes are miles ahead of other larger projects I'm involved in
Great write up! I kind of discovered this project by accident and it is a sleeper. The community is amazing, DJ ASTRO is a super cool piece to the puzzle! Love my alien! Glad someone else agrees!
