Upcoming NFT Projects 08/09-08/13
Hey! How are you? I just want to start off with a few of my thoughts about the market in general plus some specific projects. So there has been this sense of euphoria in the market recently. Almost everything has been mooning except what I have bought, but during times like this, I want to urge you to zoom out and look at the market and evaluate your holdings. We can already see Punks slightly dipping by 6eth (although I think they can dip another 15eth to 30eth floor), just be careful and it is never a bad thing to take profits is all I’m trying to say. Some interesting case studies are Animetas, The Vogu, World of Women, and most recently Fluf. Fluf went from .09 to 1.7eth floor in less than 24 hours mainly because of influencers hyping it up. Cut through influencer hype, look for what makes it stand out. Is it cool and different? Yes. Is it worth 1eth less than 24 hours after minting? I doubt it. Look at fundamentals and go from there, it is okay to miss profits (always another opportunity the next day).
Another thing I would like to mention; I do my best to mention all upcoming drops but many times I do not find out about certain drops until the day of or a few hours out, so for that reason do not treat this as an “everything” list but more of a rough guide! I would appreciate everyone spreading the word about my newsletter, will really help me and the NFT community as a whole. So please either retweet my tweet when I post this article on my Twitter or tweet about it yourself :). Let’s push through 500 subscribers this week! Also my “community wallet” is available to send eth tips or nfts which will be reinvested into the nft community. 0x0bb7bF1B64f79641f039184D51e3c65ADBf63a40
I have decided to use a key to further voice my opinions on projects, obviously, these can change pretty fast but these are my initial thoughts.
(P)- Pass (not minting), (Y)- Minting (most likely minting), (M)- Maybe (maybe minting)
Without further ado let’s dig into this week’s drop. (all times are on EST)
MLB Stadium Series - Boston Red Sox & NY Mets (9:00 am): A drop on Candy.com, I am unfamiliar with the site but it seems like they want to be the “future of digital collectibles”. I have yet to buy a drop like this coming from a league or team, only sports collectibles I have bought have come from Topshot. I have no clue how these types of collections perform post mint but if you’re a baseball fan it may be worth it to check them out! (P)
VIRIDIAN REALMS (9:00 am): A drop of art by Dizzy Viper. “Dizzy Viper is a 23-Year-old 3D Visual Artist from Italy who is absolutely in love with Digital Art. He has been creating Daily Artworks for over 4 years, reaching 65.000+ followers on Instagram and being a big inspiration to many new Artists.” Looks like it is dropping on Crypto.com, yet to use that platform and I am unfamiliar with the artist. (P)
The Glue Factory (12:00 pm): First thought when looking at this project is that it is a less “famous” Stoner Cats. A collection of 10,000 horses priced at 0.10eth. There are 5 team members (good sign) and all have linked their personal Twitter accounts which helps credibility. “This is going to be one dark and hilarious animated series starring your NFTs.” They have a little trailer up on the website, I liked it somewhat. There are some well-known comedy writers on the team and the roadmap is decent. The roadmap is nothing special but includes merch, donations, giveaways, and of course the animated series. (M)
Sad Frogs District (1 pm): A collection of 7,000 frogs priced at 0.05eth, 30 frogs per transaction with a 3.5% royalty. According to the site, frogs will be revealed shortly after minting. Their roadmap is detailed and thought through with a decent timeline post-launch. Lots of roadmap details so it would be better to check it out yourself. The team has not been identified. The art has an interesting vibe to it and somewhat reminds me of Vogu. The drop may be pushed back to August 10th. (M)
Funny Cats (1:00 pm): Have no clue what this is, but it is dropping on Wax. I have no interest in the Wax platform but just in case anyone likes Wax, feel free to check these out! (P)
The Liths Of Sisyphus (2:00 pm): From the Artblocks site “Somewhere between worlds forgotten and worlds not yet discovered, Sisyphus labours tirelessly. At the mercy of the Gods and their disdain for his cunningness, his destiny is bound to his artistry. Rock by rock, trench by trench, on mountaintops and in the pits of the underworld, Sisyphus forges his creations. When will he have bought his freedom? When will he have made his peace? As the Gods keep playing dice and the numbers roll in, Sisyphus toils relentlessly. This artwork will be released via Dutch Auction, with the price dropping in 0.25Ξ increments every 15 minutes (Starting at 1.5Ξ & ending up at 0.15Ξ)” I personally think it looks very good, I may mint one if I can but I really like the look of these! The image is supposed to move so check it out on the site! (M)
FVCK CRYSTALS (2:00 pm): A collection of 4,169 crystals priced at 0.4169eth each by a very well-known artist in the NFT space. Has been hyped up for a couple of months I believe, and I would expect serious gas wars. Regardless, will be interesting to see how it plays out! (M)
Block Faces (3:00 pm): A collection of 5,000 Block Faces priced at 0.03eth each. They only have 130 followers on Twitter. The roadmap includes a few airdrops and collabs and that is it. (P)
Queenship (8:00 pm): “Queenship is a collection of 10,000 unique Black Female NFTs on the ETH blockchain. Every Queen has her own characteristics that make her distinct, randomly generated from hundreds of thousands of unique combinations. Each Queen is able to be minted for .05 ETH.” I love their roadmap, mission, and how they are doing real charity work over just donations. The art is fantastic as well. Overall, I think if everything goes smoothly, these could do really well. I am all for the mission and supporting the founders who are all WOC. (Y)
Polychain Monsters Mystery Boxes on Binance (7:00 am): Price is 20 BNB with 25,000 mints. I have never bought anything on Binance and do not plan on doing so but if you’re interested, check it out! (P)
Muhammad Ali “Through the Lens” (1:00 pm): There will be three different packs ranging from $9.99 to $49.99. Once again, I am not a fan of Wax so I will be passing. (P)
Potato Power (2:00 pm): A collection of 7,777 3D potatoes priced at 0.05eth. Instant reveal, full commercial rights, 2% royalty. Their roadmap is interesting and features fully rigged 3d models for the Terra Virtua Metaverse as well as Netvrk. The merch line will be 100% organic and eco-friendly. 150 physical prizes will be given away. It is a team of 6, which is good to see instead of a team of 1 or even 2. (M)
Art Stars Club (3:00 pm): From their website: “10,000 Art Stars living in the Ethereum blockchain like a ERC-721 tokens. Get your own Art Star, which will hold one of the legendary NTFs in his hands. But maybe he will decide to steal any NFT directly from your wallet.” I see nothing special, I do not think they will sell out, art reminds me of Misfits and I do not like website design and the roadmap is bad. They do have 4,300 followers somehow on Twitter so they may be worth a second look but I am passing. (P)
Lucha Libre Knockout (6:00 pm): A collection of 10k wrestlers, priced at 0.06eth. 6 different teams that you can choose from post mint which will change your background color, as well as a naming feature. Merch distribution and then 30eth will be used for “Game development, graphic novel and a floor buyback”. Do I think it is feasible to design a quality game with 30eth? I do not, every estimate I have heard is way higher, I could be wrong but it is a small portion of sales and I don’t think it’ll happen. Regardless, I will be watching minting. (M)
Vox (6:00 pm): A collection of 8,888 priced at 0.089eth. “Avatars that Defi” is what they state on their homepage. There is not much on their website except you can own, play and trade with your unique avatar. They do look good. The team behind the project is Gala Labs, which has over 37k followers on Twitter. I cannot find an image to extract but if you check their website out, you will see some examples. I think this may be an interesting Voxel to keep an eye out for! (M)
Warriors of Aradena (6:00 pm): A collection of 8k warriors at a cost of 0.045eth each. It is marketed as a long-term project with a play-to-earn game. Two things I do not like about this project, the roadmap specifically the game. I am tired of projects saying there will eventually be a game, stop saying that if you don’t even have a demo. And I am personally not a fan of the art. (P)
Dominapes (7:00 pm): “8000 Pizza Boxes for our Opening Night. 7899 Empty Boxes
100 Boxes will be filled with Hand-Drawn Pizza Slices. 1 Box will be filled with a Calzone - stuffed with ricotta and Alfredo himself, aka Bored Ape #3680” Basically a lottery ticket for an ape that costs 0.015eth. One thing I will say is 15% of all proceeds (primary+secondary) are going to be donated to Stop Hunger.
Floyd’s World (11:59 pm): A collection of 11,111 Floyd’s World tokens, with over 250 traits. Designed by Rui Duarte (the artist behind Bulls on the Block). The roadmap is what you expect lots of merch, signed objects, and other giveaways. Exclusive interviews, photos, etc. I would say these could do well. I think many people will go in heavy on them and I would look into them more but for now, it’s a maybe. (M)
Lava Glow Art Blocks (12:00 pm): “Digital 3D light sculpture made of a sphere in a cube. Using noise algorithms, the sphere gets displaced to reveal it's colorful glowing core and illuminates it's environment, creating an endless organic and soothing real-time animation.” It will be a dutch auction starting at 1.50eth. (M)
Hammered Dragon Winery (12:00 pm): A collection of 10k dragons priced at 0.08eth each. This is the third dragon project in the last two weeks by my count. Well, this roadmap is interesting; including mini-games, an online game, 90% into community wallet, land purchase in Sandbox, breeding, staking, and even Defi. There seem to be a lot of big plans for all these dragon projects. The art isn’t great but isn’t bad, has a bit of a Lazy Lion feel to it. (P)
Smart Zombie Lab (1:00 pm): A collection of 5,050 zombies priced at 0.05. Right off the bat, I like to see there will only be 5,050 zombies compared to the usual 10k generative avatar projects. There will be 120 traits but the roadmap is weak and there is nothing special so most likely a pass, but I will watch to see if they gain traction. (P)
Riot Racers (unknown): A play to earn crypto game. The cars look sick, not involved in the community, or know much about the game but this seems like an already established game with some cool-looking cars, so if you’re looking for a play to earn, check it out! (M)
Moon Dogs (unknown): A collection of 5,000 moon dogs (wiener dogs) priced at 0.025eth each. This project looks cute and more for fun-looking pets rather than stand-alone avatars. Check it out if you want!
Starfish Society (unknown): A collection of 7,777 starfishes. Cute art. (M)
Side Note, as many of you know I have been looking for the right sponsor/partner to help keep my substack going while also providing value to my readers! I want to share NFT Trading Academy! It is an active discord that shares tips, flips, upcoming drops, and lots more. I was fortunate enough to take a look into the discord and discuss this trading group with one of the founders. And I have been really impressed with all of it and for such an affordable entry price compared to other trading groups like Metaverse HQ, I recommend checking them out! The monthly price is only $25 with a no-commitment 7-day free trial! Drop in and check them out. They’ve made some great calls too for example Craniums before the most recent boom! Link to join!
The Sandbox Summer Land Extension (9:00 am): I have yet to enter Sandbox or buy land but I know the land is valuable and usually makes for a quick flip because it sells out in seconds. Get those lightning hands out! (P)
Citizens of Bulliever Island (6:00 pm): A collection of 10k Bulls that live in the ocean, priced at 0.08eth each. There will be 160 possible traits. Selling points include Ownership rights, Metaverse, a DAO, mining $BULL which will then be used to fund the Island’s economy. Overall, looks like an interesting project with a team of 5 behind the scenes. I will be watching them! (M)
Monster Blocks: wow. not the good type of wow. A collection of 10k monster blocks priced at 0.055eth. You can stack your monster blocks to build a super tall monster that will burn original monsters and issue a new NFT. So that is interesting for sure, love projects with a solid burning mechanism. Only 10% of primary sales go to the community wallet, assuming the other 90% goes to the team. The artist has now been behind Gossip Goblins and The Divine Order of the Zodiac. The art of monster blocks looks really similar. I do not like how the artist is now in three large 10k projects. Bad look in my opinion. (P)
Degenerate Ape Academy: “the full website will be launched when the last degenerate ape has been minted”. (P)
Boneheads: I have already talked about this project numerous times so I will just copy “pasta” one of my old recaps! This is a complex project, but they're trying to become the nft fashion brand (the Supreme of NFTs). A quick snippet from their website: "BECAUSE THIS IS THE FUTURE. YOU’LL NEED TO OWN A TOKEN TO BE ABLE TO FORGE THE PHYSICAL COLLECTIBLES THAT WE DROP, AND TO GET EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO CLAIMABLEs, OUR AVATAR CREATION APP AND SDK, BEHIND THE SCENES, VOTING RIGHTS, AND SO MUCH MORE. ON TOP OF THE MULTIPLE UTILITIES LISTED ON OUR ROADMAP, WE’VE ADDED A SECOND ACCESS LAYER - WHEN FORGING A PHYSICAL COLLECTIBLE, YOU’LL NEED A BONEHEAD NFT THAT HAS THAT SPECIFIC ATTRIBUTE (EXAMPLE: CHEETAH BUCKET HAT) = INCREASED SPECULATION AND TRADING, RESULTING IN A MORE DYNAMIC ASSET CLASS." There is no confirmed price and it will be a surprise drop, I expect these to be priced around 0.1eth each so on the pricier side. One huge con is a 10% royalty fee so when you sell a Bonehead you will pay a 12.5% split between Opensea and Boneheads. Check their website out for more! (M)
Scribbled Boundaries (12:00 pm): can’t find information as of right now but stay on the lookout! (M)
Deep Blue Sea Club (3:00 pm): website is not informative at all. (P)
The Unstable Horses Yard (7:00 pm): Already covered this one as well. A collection of 10,000 horses priced 0.05eth per mint. Some of their selling points: Own land in the metaverse, access to the Horse DAO, charities, merch drop, and a game. (P)
Star Sailor Siblings (7:00 pm): A collection of 10,101, priced at 0.075eth. I have heard some hype about this project. Full commercial and IP rights, vote & propose, monthly youtube videos, artist and project events, and burning incentives. The transaction limit is 5, but the team is made of three members all went public with their names and face. I would keep an eye on this throughout the week. (M)
Hey, thanks for staying this long and reading through my content! Feel free to always check back in. I did try to use as many images as possible but there is a limit on how large the email file can be for Gmail so for that reason, I will not be able to include images! I tried my best but there is nothing I can do. Expect two more articles during this week (one of which will include weekend drops) other than the power ranking. Keep grinding and we will all be on the moon soon.
I appreciate all the support and hope we can break 500 subscribers by this week, so please share! As always feel free to send feedback. The giveaway winner from the last article will be announced on Twitter later today!
Good luck with all these drops and may gas be in your favor. I am most excited about Queenship so far, but we will see what happens!
